Laura Webb and Sandra Johns
Custom Potting Custom potting has the benefit of 27 years of experience with co-managers Laura (14 years) and Sandra (13 years). After working for and with Betty Marsh (retired manager of Custom Potting), the dynamic duo took over in 2005.
Laura was born and raised in Southern California, in the Mojave Desert, so when she moved to Boise in 1986, she was fascinated by all the flowers. She started at Edwards in the Retail Department. On Sundays while she was working she would plant up a pot or two, modeling them after Betty’s work, then slip them in with the pots for sale. She was “discovered” and started
working for Betty.
She is a wife, Mom; 1 daughter, 2 sons, grandma; one girl, one boy. She can remember gardening for her Mom—keeping 70 feet of honeysuckle trimmed into an umbrella shape over a fence and trimming in the yard with a pair of scissors.
Sandra was born in Yakima WA, lived on the “highline” (northernmost) Montana (think –50 degree winters), and Mountain Home before moving to Boise in 1970. Sandra started in the Transplanting Department of Edwards then moved to Custom Potting. She loves yard work and always has. She used to convince her mom to make her punishment be getting sent out to weed the yard.
Sandra is a wife and Mom, also two boys and a girl, has 6 grandkids and still manages to find time to work with abused and neglected kids at a summer camp in McCall (The Royal Family Kids Camp). She loves helping with the tea party they do every year at the camp for the girls—a fancy “tea” complete with china cups and pretty hats. (they are always looking for more “stuff” for the Tea).
Custom Potting continues to grow with its tradition of excellence and service under the competent direction of this talented twosome!
